We spend a chunk of the day driving through Indiana, but time prevents us from making any stops here. It is all about the road…

DAY 2 PLAN:
ACTIVITY: Optional hike of Brandywine Falls or Ice Cave (Ledges Trail); or take the scenic railroad trip; or visit the beaver marsh
DEPART: Cuyahoga Valley National Park by noon
DRIVE: Cuyahoga Valley, OH to IN to Chicago, IL (estimated 350 miles / 6 hours straight driving), change timezone at IL state line
ARRIVE: Chicago, IL and check-in at the Travelodge Downtown Hotel (for 2 nights)

NOTES FROM THE ROAD: INDIANA, CARS AND FREEDOM… (driving in Indiana, talking car culture)

We were back on the road before noon, heading along I-80 through Ohio and Indiana. Somehow the drive seemed easier today and the miles passed to the sound of our “road mix” playlist. The road was still enough of a novelty for us to enjoy the fragmentary imagery we passed at 70 mph. There was no time to stop anywhere for more than gas — and postcards.
